All bookings, once agreed verbally, by email or writing, will be subject to these terms and conditions and will be assumed as accepted by all parties unless otherwise notified by email or in writing that a variant of the terms and conditions is to be negotiated.
Half Day
- £135 per half day (any period up to 3 hours)
Full Day
- £270 per day (up to 6 hours)
- Thereafter £45 per hour
Out of Hours
- £67.50 per hour
Before 9am and after 5pm Mondays to Fridays and Weekends
Travel
- Fees are inclusive of travel up to 20 miles.
- 40p per mile thereafter.
- Any cost occurred on public transport will be reimbursed.
Travel Time
- Charged at £10 an hour after the first hour.
Cancellation Fees
- Up to 15 days’ notice – no charge
- 8 – 14 days’ notice – 50% of the fee
- 7 days or less notice – 100% of the fee
Remote Service
- Remote interpreting can be arranged in advance, depending on the nature of the assignment. Not all assignments are suitable for remote interpreting. Do get in touch to discuss your individual needs.
- I have a secure, private, confidential workspace and my computer screen is not visible to others. I wear a headset to maintain the privacy of my clients’ conversation.
- Platforms I currently use are: Skype, Facetime, Zoom and Teams. Others are available on request.However, if I need to download a different platform, which incurs a cost, then this may be added to the clients’ invoice.
- A test call to check connection, set up and usage can be arranged for 20 minutes with no extra charge, however longer testing calls may incur a minimum half day fee.
- The platform used is the clients’ choice, but clients are reminded to familiarise themselves with that platform company’s privacy policy, to ensure that it has the appropriate level of security for their needs.
- Whoever hosts the meetings is deemed responsible for the admin and security of the meeting.
- If the meeting is more than 1hr then it will be necessary to schedule a break after 45mins. For meetings over 2hrs then a co-worker will need to be booked.
- Similar fees as face to face interpreting apply to remote interpreting, due to the technical, complex nature of this type of work, including screen fatigue for both the deaf client and I.
Terms
- Payment to be made in full within 30 days of receipt of invoice.
- After 30 days charges will be applied as per Late Payment Legislation.
- Late payment fee = Full owing + 10% of the full amount owed.
Face to Face Working
- Booking over 1.5 hours will usually require 2 interpreters.
- If only one interpreter is booked for such an assignment breaks will be required.
- Two interpreters will always be preferred.
Preparation Materials
- The client will provide the interpreter with all relevant information and any preparatory materials in good time of the assignment.
